About Bidline
Off-market property deserved market infrastructure. It got phone tag.
Around a fifth of Australian residential sales — roughly A$80 billion a year — never reach a portal. They move through phone calls, text threads, and personal networks. Some of the best deals in the country close this way, and almost none of them leave a record.
Bidline was founded on a simple judgement: that this market is too large, and too important to the people inside it, to keep running on memory and goodwill. Vendors deserve proof their sale was run fairly. Buyers with verified finance deserve real access, not a place in someone's contact list. Agents deserve infrastructure that strengthens their relationships instead of strip-mining them.
So we built the bid round as a product — private, login-walled, finance-verified, and audited end to end — for all of Australia, from the first day.
The problem
The informal market works — for almost no one in it.
The off-market phone chain quietly fails everyone it touches. Vendors cannot prove the price they accepted was the best available, because most willing buyers were never asked. Buyers outside the right networks never hear about the property at all. Agents carry the whole process in their heads, with nothing to show a vendor — or a regulator — about how it was run.
Bidline replaces that with structured rounds in four canonical formats, a finance-verified bidder pool, and a record built on a chain: every bid carries a SHA-256 hash of the bid before it, and the round's events are logged alongside that chain and retained to meet Australian record-keeping obligations. The discretion of off-market stays. The opacity goes.

What we hold to
Four commitments, built into the product.
These are not poster values. Each one is enforced by the platform itself.
01
Verified by default
No anonymous participation where it matters. Licences are checked manually against state registers; buyer pre-approvals are manually reviewed into banded tiers with expiry dates. An expired verification cannot bid — the system simply will not accept it.
02
Auditable by design
Every bid is written into a chain, each one carrying a SHA-256 hash of the bid before it, so altering an amount after the fact breaks every hash downstream of it. Round events are logged alongside the chain and retained to meet Australian record-keeping obligations. Fairness on a Bidline round is not a claim; it is a property of the data structure.
03
Privacy on both sides
Addresses stay greyed until a bid is accepted, and reveal only to the accepted bidder. Bidders compete behind paddle numbers; agents see a finance band, never a lender or an amount. Both sides get the discretion that brought them off-market in the first place.
04
Aligned with agents
Bidline is a technology marketplace, not a competing agency. Agents keep their vendors, their commissions, and their relationships. We charge a flat subscription and a capped success fee on completed deals — never listing fees, never resold leads.
How we operate
Manual review is the feature, not the bottleneck.
A verification team, not a verification script
At this stage of the platform, every agent licence is checked by a person against the relevant state register, and every buyer pre-approval is read by a person before it becomes a banded tier. We chose this deliberately: a marketplace is only as trustworthy as its weakest admission.
A 24-hour review service level
Verification decisions are returned within 24 hours on weekdays. Buyer's agent client mandates are verified the same way as direct buyers, and their bids are capped to the mandate's tier.
Narrow scope, kept narrow
Bidline runs the round and keeps the record. Bids are non-binding; contracts are exchanged off-platform between the parties' legal representatives; and we never hold deposits or settlement funds. We do the part that needed inventing and leave the rest to the professionals who already do it well.
The company
Built in Australia, for Australian property law.
Bidline is an Australian company building for the Australian market — not a global template with the currency symbol swapped. Price guides follow NSW underquoting-aligned ranges. The audit model is designed for the questions Australian regulators actually ask.
We operate nationally from day one: Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, and the regional markets where off-market dealing has always been strongest.
